Happy July, everyone! Hard to believe we are in the throes of summer already, but that may have something to do with having been in here all winter and spring, watching the weather fly by and trying to make our lovely space that we call "the makeshift" just so.
A few bits of housekeeping to tend to here:
> We will be closed this Wednesday-Friday, July 3-5, in observance of the holiday. Because "it takes a village," as we so often tell you, gather up yours (family, friends, cohorts... pets...) and enjoy a peaceful respite and some summertime fun. We will resume our regular classes on Saturday, July 6 with Toria's Hot Powerful at 8AM and PowerCore with Deb at 9:30AM.
> Merch! Swag! Loot! We don't talk about it much, because you're here for the yoga. But we do have a lovely little retail kiosk that features yoga mats, essential oil diffusers, headbands, "grippy-socks" (as the kids class likes to call them!) and more! In addition, our summertime logo tanks ($20+tax) are here in sizes up to 2XL, as well as a batch of our limited-edition holographic yoga bags ($35+tax) which were handcrafted by local artisans, Calliope Creations. We love them and you will, too!
> Parking! Window signs! When you join us, please park on the south side of the Pizza Hut in the spaces directly adjacent to Dover Center Road and enter at the rear of the building where you see our blue awning. We will have additional parking on our own parcel coming soon -- YEASSSS!! -- which will resemble urban "parallel parking" of sorts on our property. We will also have a bike lane and bike rack for you! Stay tuned... and yes, our window and door signs are finally going up! No more paper signs for our little building in the four four one four OM... can't wait!
> Kids & Family Flow. We have changed a few of our class offerings based on your feedback, including this class. We love teaching to kids, and recognize that many families may want to practice together! Check out our SCHEDULE page and come be a part of it. During the summer we will have these classes on Tuesdays and Fridays; during the school year, intermittently on weekends and school holidays.
> UNLIMITED YOGA! If you said this in your best Emperor Palpatine voice, congratulations, you're Star Wars-nerdy just like me. In all seriousness though, we are running an UNLIMITED YOGA pass special right now: $75 gets you all the yoga you can do at village yogaworks during the month of July. It's a pretty sweet deal. Simply sign up on our SCHEDULE page and click it as an option after you register for class. And if you are currently working through a package you purchased, see me (Peter) for details on how we can adjust your existing package so you can take advantage of it!
> Last but certainly not least, a heartfelt THANK YOU! On behalf of all the teachers here at village yogaworks, we want to express our sincere appreciation for your support since we opened on June 1. There's simply no way to express it that wouldn't sound over-the-top. Love and light, hearts and thoughts, hugs and more! We are grateful for you all, and we are seeing community building here that was always hoped for when the space was coming together. Please be sure to tell all your friends and family about us; we plan to "namastay all day" here in this "oasis of calm" (both VYW kid yogi lines, don't they say the best things?!?) for a long time. We love serving you and this wonderful community. We won't ever take it for granted.
“Who am I?” “Usually, when you ask people who they are, they tell you what they do.” So says a favorite digital nomad-writer I know. Years ago, while creating a social media profile, I fell into that trap. Long before my “essential communication” practice was cemented in my Yoga Teacher Training with Dawn Schroeder at Pranaverdana Vibrant Living, my Twitter “Who am I?” had brevity, but, ugh, it reads like a giant laundry list of Accomplishments. Employments. Big Red-Letter Days. Gold Stars.
